Founded in 1963, Kingsborough Community College of the City University of New York is a comprehensive community college located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Manhattan Beach, on the southern tip of Brooklyn, New York. The campus overlooks three bodies of water-- Sheepshead Bay, Jamaica Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.
Kingsborough enrolls approximately 12,000 degree-seeking students annually and serves approximately 30,000 students per year, offering a wide range of credit and non-credit courses in applied fields leading to good jobs, and liberal arts and sciences programs that prepare students to transfer to bachelor's degree institutions. Our students are diverse, representing 113 different countries, with over 56% from racial and ethnic groups traditionally underrepresented in higher education (Black, non-Hispanic - 38.3%, and Hispanic, other - 18.3%). Fifty-three percent are the first in their families to attend college. Seventy-six percent are full-time students, over 30% are 25 years old or older and more than 36% come from households with annual incomes under $20,000.
