Kingsborough Community College is a comprehensive community college, offering a broad array of educational opportunities in line with its current mission: to provide students with a well-rounded education, combining liberal arts and sciences programs focused on transfer to a bachelor's program, and educational opportunities in preparation for careers, while fostering personal growth and community engagement. The college provides corequisite model courses to support college-level reading, writing, and math skills and English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction to better prepare all students for academic success.
In addition, Kingsborough offers a number of programs for special populations, including Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP), College Now, a partnership for "dual enrollment" in college courses with area high schools, the TRiO program, College Discovery, CUNY Edge, Access-Ability Services, Single Parent Students, the My Turn Program for senior citizens, and the Leon M. Goldstein High School for the Sciences, a public school located on the Kingsborough campus. Students also enjoy a wide range of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, with over 30 active student clubs and organizations and 10 intercollegiate athletic teams.
